HC Deb 15 November 1944 vol 404 c1970
70. Miss Ward

asked the Postmaster-General whether he is aware of the dissatisfaction with the postal communications between this country and Turkey; and in view of the increased co-operation between the nations, will he take steps to try and improve the position.

Captain Crookshank

I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply given to my hon. Friend the Member for Pudsey and Otley (Sir G. Gibson) on 27th September. The information then given still holds but I have recently received complaints of abnormal delay for which I cannot at present account. I have telegraphed to the Turkish Post Office for full information.

Miss Ward

I take it that my right hon. and gallant Friend will do everything to speed up communications with Turkey?

Captain Crookshank

Certainly, Sir but, of course, I do not control the whole of the route.
