HC Deb 15 November 1944 vol 404 cc1970-1
74. Mr. Charles White

asked the Minister of Agriculture why Derbyshire is the only county where the war agricultural committee enforces the rationing of brewers' wet grains, thereby causing considerable resentment among the milk producing farmers of the county.

The Joint Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Agriculture (Mr. Tom Williams)

Derbyshire is not the only county where the distribution of brewers' wet grains is controlled by the war agricultural executive committee. These grains are rationed feeding stuffs and as such can be directed by county war agricultural executive committees to farmers in the area nearest the source of production, each committee exercising authority over supplies available to its county.
