HC Deb 22 March 1944 vol 398 cc860-1
67. Mr. Glenvil Hall

asked the Postmaster-General if he is aware that members of His Majesty's Forces serving in India and Burma have to prepay postage on letters sent by air mail; and if arrangements can be made to allow them air-graph-letter facilities similar' to those granted to troops serving in the Middle East.

The Postmaster-General (Captain Crookshank)

Yes, Sir, and it is because postage is payable from all countries on all classes of air mail sent by His Majesty's Forces. As regards the second part of the hon Member's Question facilities, similar to those available in the Middle East, are already available to the troops in India and Burma both for airgraphs and air letters.
