HC Deb 08 June 1943 vol 390 cc520-1
25. Dr. Russell Thomas

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he will consider recommending the granting of colours to the Home Guard?

Sir J. Grigg

No colours have been granted to the Army or carried by the Army since the outbreak of war, and I regret that no exception to this rule can be made in the case of the Home Guard.
