HC Deb 08 June 1943 vol 390 c536
63. Mr. Stokes

asked the Minister of Supply whether he will issue instructions that before fitting giant tyres, wheel rims are to be treated with an approved anti-adhesive preparation not containing paraffin, and that in their removal from the rims paraffin oil and petrol are not to be employed?

Mr. Peat

No, Sir. While the use of anti-adhesive preparations is encouraged, I do not think there are sufficient grounds for making it obligatory.

Mr. Stokes

Is the hon. Gentleman aware that some firms are using a kind of anti-adhesive mixture which is highly deleterious to the quality of the rubber, and will he stop that?

Mr. Peat

Yes, Sir.
