HC Deb 25 February 1943 vol 387 cc275-6
11. Dr. Little

asked the Minister of Labour whether he will have lodging allowance restored and arrears paid to a constituent of the hon. Member for County Down, with whose name and address he has been furnished, who was deprived of his allowance some months ago on the ground that he came from Eire; and whether he will take steps to prevent a repetition of this mistake?

Mr. Bevin

I am making inquiries and will write to my hon. Friend. In order to prevent misunderstanding, I should say at once that these allowances are not withheld on the ground that the worker's dependants live in Eire.
