HC Deb 25 February 1943 vol 387 c275
9. Major Sir Jocelyn Lucas

asked the Minister of Labour why Mr. W. J. Wilkins, an electrician employed by Haig's Motor Company, of Portsmouth, was called up despite the fact that the firm held Form N S 204 from the district man-power board stating that deferment would operate for at least six months; whether the Ministry of War Transport's observations were called for before he was removed from his employment; and why the representations of the Regional Transport Commissioner, No. 6 Region, were turned down in this case?

Mr. Bevin

I am having inquiries made and will communicate with my hon. and gallant Friend.
