HC Deb 19 November 1942 vol 385 c475
5. Mr. William Brown

asked the Minister of Labour whether, in determining on the call up of key men in the building industry, such as plumbers, carpenters, electricians, etc., he has regard to the possible demands on the building industry of future enemy air raids; and whether he is satisfied that the building industry will be able to cope with the situation which might arise from heavy bombing?

Mr. Bevin

The arrangements for calling up building workers have been made in consultation with my Noble Friend the Minister of Works and Planning, and the Answers to both parts of the hon. Member's Question are in the affirmative.
