HC Deb 12 March 1942 vol 378 cc1202-3
65. Mr. Ivor Thomas

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War what is the reason for the ban on the driving of Army motor cars by officers; and whether, in order to release soldiers from other duties and women for productive work, he will relax the ban?

The Joint Under-Secretary of State for War (Major Arthur Henderson)

I would refer my hon. Friend to the answer given to my hon. Friend the Member for Blackpool (Mr. Roland Robinson) on 25th February, 1942.

Mr. Tinker

Does the reply quoted remove the ban?

Major Henderson

No, for the reasons given in the reply to which I have referred.
