§ Sir A. DuncanNumerous reports were presented between November, 1940, and April, 1941. The great majority of the recommendations were accepted as a basis of production policy and have been or are being put into effect as quickly as possible. Of the personnel of the Mission, one is now Munitions Adviser to the Eastern Group Supply Council, three others are engaged on Eastern Group problems in the Ministry of Supply, and another is a technical adviser to the Government of India. The Ministry continues to obtain valuable advice from members of the Mission.
§ Major MilnerIs it not a fact that very much more might have been done in this matter by energetic management, and is the Minister correct in saying that no member of the Mission—I do not mean technical advisers—has been engaged in this work?
§ Sir A. DuncanMembers of the Mission have been constantly consulted, and a number of these technical advisers were very helpful.
§ Major MilnerIs it not a fact that the Mission recommended that one or more of their members should help with this work and that the Ministry refused or neglected to take advantage of that offer, with the result that the best has not been made of that report?
§ Sir A. DuncanThere was no neglect. Decisions contrary to the recommendations of the Mission may have been come to, but there is no evidence of neglect.
