§ 53. Mr. R. Morganasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will agree to set up a small committee to consider whether any fair and practicable means can be devised to enable mortgagees to play their part in providing for the cost of insuring against war damage the properties on which their mortgagees are secured?
§ Sir K. WoodThis matter was the subject of careful consideration during the preparation both of the War Damage Act and of the Amending Bill now before Parliament. It has, moreover, in the course of the discussions on that Bill, been fully debated in this House. I do not consider, therefore, that the committee my hon. Friend suggests would serve a useful purpose.
