8. Mr. Oldfield

asked the Minister of Labour how many of the 8,000,000 women that have now been registered are, respectively, married and without children or married with children under the age of 14; and how many of each class are in full-time employment?

Mr. Bevin

The number of each class in full-time paid employment when they, registered was 768,933 and 383,311 respectively.

Mr. Thorne

Can my right hon. Friend state from memory the total number of men and women who have been registered since the start of the war?

Mr. Bevin

I cannot, from memory.
