HC Deb 25 February 1942 vol 378 c203
55. Major McCallum

asked the Minister of Supply whether, in view of the fact that forestry workers, foresters and woodmen, are classified as agricultural workers, and that as such their wages have been statutorily raised some 60 per cent. over pre-war rates, and in view of the Government's policy to raise the prices of farm products to compensate farmers for their increased costs of production, he will give an assurance that the controlled prices for timber products will be similarly raised to conform to the increased cost of labour.

Sir A. Duncan

All relevant considerations have been and will continue to be taken into account in fixing the maximum price for timber products.
