HC Deb 25 February 1942 vol 378 c203
54. Major McCallum

asked the Minister of Supply what measures have been devised to enable farmers in remote parts of Britain to obtain supplies of basic slag by rail at the same charges for freight as those paid by farmers situated close to the localities where basic slag is produced?

The Minister of Supply (Sir Andrew Duncan)

By the Control of Fertilisers (No 15) Order, 1941, uniform maximum prices have been fixed which include delivery to the buyer's nearest railway station or port of landing regardless of the distance from the point of production.
