HC Deb 08 October 1941 vol 374 c992
63. Mr. Leslie Boyce

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether he is prepared to issue an order to extend the policy that has been adopted in respect of pickles and canned meat, so that the names of jam manufacturers also should have to appear on the labels of their products?

Major Lloyd George

My hon. Friend's proposal has already been discussed with the Jam Advisory Committee, and a decision will shortly be taken.

Mr. Boyce

Will the right hon. and gallant Gentleman when further considering this matter, bear in mind that it is in the public interest that jam manufacturers should be made to put their names on their labels, and that a manufacturer of good and wholesome jams has nothing to fear or lose by doing so?
