HC Deb 20 November 1941 vol 376 c449
38. Sir R. Young

asked the Minister of Health whether his attention has been drawn to the shortage of domestic water in the district of Great Sankey, near Warrington, resulting in empty cylinders with risk of explosion and failure of supply for sanitary purposes; whether he knows that this shortage has existed for almost two years and has been more severely felt during recent months with possible dangers to health; and whether he will take steps to increase the supply?

Mr. E. Brown

I am aware that there is a shortage in the domestic water supply, affecting between 20 and 30 houses in part of the district referred to. I am informed by the water undertakers concerned that steps are being taken to secure an adequate supply to these houses by the end of the year.
