15. Miss Wardasked the Secretary of State for War whether he will consider an alteration in the regulations governing the non-payment of separation allowances to wives not living with their husbands at the time of enlistment, and particularly in relation to allowances for children?
§ Mr. EdenThe position of separated wives in relation to the payment of family allowances was exhaustively considered before the existing arrangements were approved, and I am not aware of any particular reason for alteration of these arrangements. If the hon. Lady will inform me of any specific suggestion which she has in mind, I shall be glad to consider it.
