HC Deb 30 April 1940 vol 360 c523
25. Mr. R. Gibson

(forMr. David Adams)asked the Minister of Economic Warfare whether he has a statement to make as to the steps being taken to ration neutral countries in respect of goods required by Germany, in view of the fact that extraordinary supplies of petrol stored in Denmark have fallen into German hands and that similar extraordinary supplies in other neutral states may act as a direct incentive to their invasion by Germany?

Mr. Cross

War trade discussions are constantly in progress with neutral Governments, and I am not in a position to announce the nature or the details of these discussions. I would, however, refer the hon. Member to the replies given by the Prime Minister to the hon. Member for Elland (Mr. Levy) and by myself to the hon. Member for Seaham (Mr. Shinwell) on the 9th and 16th April respectively regarding rationing arrangements and Danish petrol stocks.
