HC Deb 02 May 1939 vol 346 c1681
41. Mr. Kennedy

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is aware of a shortage of mercury, and whether there is any cause other than the situation in Spain to account for this shortage?

Mr. Stanley

No representations have been made to me that industry in this country is unable to obtain adequate supplies of mercury. The second part of the question, therefore, does not arise.
