HC Deb 04 April 1939 vol 345 c2621
5. Mr. Riley (for Mr. Lunn)

asked the Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs what action His Majesty's Government in the United Kingdom propose to take on the report of the Rhodesia-Nyasa-land Royal Commission?

Sir T. Inskip

His Majesty's Government in the United Kingdom, in consultation with the Governments of Southern Rhodesia, Northern Rhodesia and Nyasaland, will give early consideration to the recommendations in the Report of the Royal Commission. It is, however, clearly desirable, before decisions are reached in regard to the main recommendations, to give time for the report to be studied in the three territories, so that the Governments concerned may be in a position to take into account local opinion on the general proposals of the Commission.
