HC Deb 04 April 1939 vol 345 cc2621-2
Mr. Arthur Greenwood

May I ask whether the Prime Minister can state the date of the reassembly of the House after Easter and the business which will be taken on resumption?

The Prime Minister (Mr. Chamberlain)

The Government propose that the House shall meet after the Easter Recess on Tuesday, 18th April. The Adjournment motion will, however, contain provision empowering Mr. Speaker to call the House together at an earlier date if circumstances so require.

On resumption, the business will be:

Tuesday, 18th April.—Motion to move Mr. Speaker out of the Chair on going into Committee of Supply on the Civil Estimates and Estimates for Revenue Departments.

Wednesday, 19th April.—Second Reading of the Building Societies Bill.

Thursday, 20th April.—Committee stage of the Camps Bill; Report and Third Reading of the Limitation Bill [Lords]; Second Reading of Patent and Designs (Limits of Time) Bill [Lords].

Friday, 21st April—Consideration of Private Members Bills.

On any day, if there is time, other Orders may be taken, including consideration of the amendments to the Prevention of Fraud (Investments) Bill which are expected to be received from another place.
