HC Deb 17 November 1938 vol 341 c1032
27. Mr. Thorne

asked the Home Secretary whether he can give any information in connection with a man who was killed at the Rochester seaplane works; and what was the cause of the accident?

Sir S. Hoare

I understand that this man, who was an experienced painter, was sitting on some planks and overbalanced when changing his position. Evidence was given at the inquest that the planks did not slip and that there was a hand-hold nearby, and the jury returned a verdict of accidental death without any rider.
