HC Deb 14 November 1938 vol 341 c466
2. Mr. Day

asked the Under-Secretary of State for India whether any alteration has been made during the previous two years in the rules framed under the Indian Telegraph Act whereby the censorship of Press messages to and from India has been altered?

Colonel Llewellin

No change has been made.

Mr. Day

Are we to understand that all messages from correspondents of reputable news agencies and newspapers are allowed to go through uncensored?

Colonel Llewellin

I do not think my answer went quite as far as that.
