HC Deb 23 March 1938 vol 333 c1187
19. Mr. Riley

asked the Prime Minister if, and when, he will be able to inform the House of the questions under discussion between His Majesty's Government and the Government of Italy?

The Prime Minister

I can give no undertaking as to when, if at all, it will be possible to give the House a list of the subjects under discussion. But, as I informed the hon. Member for East Wolverhampton (Mr. Mander) on 10th March, any agreement reached will be communicated to the House, and there will be an opportunity for discussion.

Mr. Riley

Does not the right hon. Gentleman consider that the people of this country are entitled to know what questions are to be discussed?

The Prime Minister

No, Sir, I do not think so at this stage. I have said that when any agreement is reached there will be an opportunity for discussion.
