§ 71. Mr. Thorneasked the Home Secretary whether he can give any information in connection with the crane-grab accident at Dagenham on Saturday, 12th March; what was the cause of the accident; and how many men were injured?
§ Mr. LloydI understand that this accident was due to a workman endeavouring to recover his shovel as the grab was being swung into the hold. His hand was crushed between the grab and a stanchion. No other person was injured, and there does not appear to have been any breach of the regulations under the Factory Acts.
