HC Deb 15 March 1938 vol 333 cc213-4
52. Mr. McEntee

asked the Secretary to the Overseas Trade Department whether he will assure the House that the same consideration is given to requests for commercial credits from China as is given to requests from other countries?

Mr. R. S. Hudson (Secretary, Overseas Trade Department)

I assume that the hon. Member refers to guarantees given by the Export Credits Guarantee Department for the benefit of United Kingdom exporters. Applications for guarantees receive the same consideration in the case of exports to China as in the case of exports to other countries.
