asked the Home Secretary what has been the cost of the construction and furnishing of the new section house for the Metropolitan police at Putney?

Sir S. Hoare

It is estimated that the cost of the construction and furnishing of the new section house at Putney, including provision for offices, married quarters, and rooms allocated for the use of nonresident officers, will be just under £90,000.

Mr. Kelly

Has there been an investigation as to the extravagance that has been engaged upon in the construction of this section house?

Sir S. Hoare

I have no reason to think there has been any extravagance.
