HC Deb 15 June 1938 vol 337 cc212-3
41. Mr. Parker

asked the Minister of Transport whether he is aware that there have been a number of fatal accidents recently on the portion of the London—Colchester Road, A12, now proposed to be de-restricted; and whether he can reconsider his decision on this matter?

Mr. Burgin

I am advised that in the last 18 months there has been one fatal accident in the section of the road in question. Representations have been made by the local authorities as to the need for the speed limit, and these will be carefully considered.
