asked the Minister of Transport the number of accidents reported to the police for the period 12 months prior to the adoption of the roundabout system of traffic control at the Newhouse crossing on the Glasgow-Edinburgh road, and for the period 12 months immediately subsequent to such adoption?

In the 12 months before the adoption of this roundabout system, there were five accidents, all non-fatal; and in the 12 months after, three, also non-fatal.
