HC Deb 18 July 1938 vol 338 c1804
63. Mr. J. Henderson

asked the Minister of Health whether he is aware that the Clowne Rural District Council, Nottinghamshire, seeking to acquire land at Church Lane for the housing of aged couples received but could not accept an offer of land at £360 per acre; whether the acquisition of the same land and/or an alternative site has since been sanctioned; what was the price; and what was the previous rateable value of the land that was acquired?

The Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Health (Mr. Bernays)

I am aware that the council proposed to purchase 4 acres of land at Church Lane for £830, and I understand that they have not proceeded with the proposal. I am informed that they have deferred the question of purchasing any land in this parish.
