§ 45. Rear-Admiral Sir Murray Sueterasked the Prime Minister whether he will consider setting up a panel of leading agriculturists to co-operate with the Minister of Agriculture in framing his agricultural policy for next year; the panel to be constituted on similar lines to the panel of industrial advisers just set up to advise in matters connected with the Defence programme?
§ The Prime MinisterThe panel of industrial advisers to which my hon. and 1984 gallant Friend refers has been set up not to advise upon policy which is a matter for the Government, but to receive representations and suggest remedies in regard to practical difficulties that may arise in the execution of that policy. My right hon. Friend the Minister of Agriculture has already at his disposal agencies and individuals who perform this function.
