§ Mr. Munro (Lord of the Treasury)I have been asked to reply. Thirty-one local education authorities maintain nursery schools in urban areas. There are 44 such schools recognised by the Board, including a few cases where the original buildings were provided by voluntary bodies. In addition, 14 other local education authorities have submitted proposals, which have been approved in principle, to provide nursery schools in urban areas.
