HC Deb 04 April 1938 vol 334 cc1-2
1. Mr. Sorensen

asked the Under-Secretary of State for India whether he has any information to give the House concerning the rejection of the Finance Bill in the Legislative Assembly?

The Under-Secretary of State for India (Lord Stanley)

The circumstances in which the Legislative Assembly refused leave to introduce the Finance Bill in its "recommended" form were as stated in my reply to the hon. Member's question on 14th March. It has since been laid before the Council of State under Section 67 B of the 9th Schedule to the Government of India Act, 1935, and consented to by them.
