HC Deb 21 October 1937 vol 327 c14
21. Mr. T. Smith

asked the Home Secretary whether he is aware of the inadequacy of the provisions of the Workmen's Compensation Act; and whether any amending legislation is contemplated in the near future?

Mr. Lloyd

My right hon. Friend is aware that there are various provisions in the Act which might advantageously be reviewed. I am not at present in a position to make a statement as to the prospects of legislation.

Mr. Smith

May I take it that in the King's Speech there will be no mention about pending legislation on this subject?
