HC Deb 01 November 1937 vol 328 cc539-40
44. Mr. Pilkington

asked the Post master-General whether an additional grant can be made to the British Broad-wiling Corporation out of the money paid for licences, in order that, among other things, they may have sufficient funds to enable them to arrange for early morning broadcasts of instruction in physical exercises?

Major Tryon

The question whether arrangements should be made for broadcasts of instruction in physical exercises is a matter for the Governors of the Corporation. It is for the Corporation to allocate to the best advantage the income available for the broadcasting service; and it is for them to consider in the first instance whether that income is adequate.
