HC Deb 23 March 1937 vol 321 cc2753-4
72. Mr. Hayday

asked the Minister of Health whether it is his intention to remove the anomaly under which a workman, having paid contributions on his full trade union rate of pay for most of his working life, yet having during the last five years of that period been reduced in status and pay to a lower rate through no fault of his own except physical incapacity, is finally pensioned on the lower rate of that last five years; and, if so, will provisions accordingly be incorporated in the draft Bill now being prepared to amend the Superannuation Act, 1922?

Sir K. Wood

It is my intention to include in the Superannuation Bill now being prepared a provision to deal with the case referred to by the hon. Member.
