HC Deb 21 June 1937 vol 325 c816
8. Mr. Arthur Henderson

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether there is to be any change in the foreign policy of His Majesty's Government as a result of the deliberations of the Imperial Conference?

Mr. Eden

The hon. Member will have seen in the Press the statement recording the result of the deliberations of the Conference on the subject of foreign affairs. No change is contemplated in the foreign policy of His Majesty's Government in the United Kingdom.

Mr. Henderson

Are we to assume that His Majesty's Government continue opposed to any proposal to delete or weaken Article 16 of the Covenant of the League?

Mr. Eden

Our position was made quite clear in my previous statement.
