HC Deb 08 June 1937 vol 324 c1567
22. Mr. Leckie

asked the Secretary for Mines whether he is aware that the regional committee which regulates coal prices in the West Midland area has decided not to make any reduction in prices this summer, as has been the invariable practice in the past; and whether he is satisfied that consumers are sufficiently represented on this committee?

Captain Crookshank

I am not aware of any such decision, but if the hon. Member will let me know what he means by the West Midland area—which is rot an area for the purposes of organised coal selling—I will have further inquiries made. Consumers are not represented on regional committees, but any consumer who is aggrieved at any action taken under a selling scheme may complain to the appropriate district committee of investigation, on which consumers are represented.
