HC Deb 12 July 1937 vol 326 c866
65. Mr. Bossom

asked the Home Secretary whether he is aware that certain local authorities have suspended action in connection with their air-raid precautions schemes, pending a discussion as to the amount of the cost of such schemes to be borne by the National Exchequer; and, in view of the vital necessity for the completion of such schemes, whether he can give an early reply to the requests made by the local authorities in this matter?

Mr. Lloyd

I would refer my hon. Friend to the answer given on Wednesday last by my right hon. Friend to a question by the hon. Member for Pontypool {Mr. Jenkins).

Mr. Bossom

While thanking my hon. Friend for that reply, as so many of these authorities are anxious to go ahead, will be get his Department at least to co-operate with them?
