HC Deb 15 February 1937 vol 320 c837
46. Sir P. Harris

asked the Prime Minister whether, in view of the announcement of the policy of the Government as regards a loan for the purposes of rearmament, he can now outline the Government's proposals for dealing with the recommendations of the Royal Commission on the Private Manufacture of Armaments?

The Prime Minister

I would refer the hon. Member to the answer which I gave to a question by the hon. Member for Birkenhead, East (Mr. White) on 8th February, to which I have nothing to add.

Sir P. Harris

Has not the position altered? The Chancellor of the Exchequer made his important statement on Thursday. Does not the Prime Minister realise that while the Government are trying to make up their minds armament shares are soaring?
