asked the Secretary of State for War whether the military authorities at Hong Kong have requested reinforcements?

Mr. Hore-Belisha

Movements of troops are made on the responsibility of His Majesty's Government in accordance with the requirements of the situation.

Lieut.-Commander Fletcher

Has the right hon. Gentleman inquired from the authorities at Hong Kong whether they are satisfied that the force at their disposal is sufficient to deal with incidents arising out of the extension of hostilities in the neighbourhood of Hong Kong?

Mr. Hore-Belisha

I have answered the question.

Mr. Bellenger
