HC Deb 27 April 1937 vol 323 c148
2. Mr. E. Smith

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he has considered the communication which has been brought to his notice regarding the policy suggested by the chairman of the Bombay Chamber of Commerce at the annual meeting of the chamber with a view to improving trade relationships; and whether he will take steps to adopt this suggestion?

Mr. Runciman

I have seen an abridged account of the speech to which the hon. Member refers, and can assure him that I shall be willing to consider with care any proposals that the Government of India may make, especially if they are likely to increase the trade of both countries.
