HC Deb 18 May 1936 vol 312 cc821-2
27. Sir. NICHOLAS GRATTANDOYLE

asked the First Commissioner of Works whether, in the interest of Members whose sole outlook at present is a blank wall, he will consider the restoration of a certain number of raised seats upon the Terrace, giving an outlook upon the river and its amenities?

Mr. ORMSBY-GORE

Yes, Sir; new benches have been supplied; and I have only been awaiting the repainting of the platforms to place the benches in such position as will, I hope, enable hon. Members to see over the heightened parapet.

Mr. G. GRIFFITHS

Is this the wall that Cabinet Ministers have been sitting on for a long time?
