HC Deb 16 March 1936 vol 310 cc41-2
95. Captain STRICKLAND

asked the Minister of Transport whether he will extend to motor cyclists the privilege conceded to motor-car owners by which they may be permitted to obtain on 29th May next a licence which will enable them to use their cycles during the Whitsuntide holiday until the end of June or the end of the year as they may desire?

Captain HUDSON

As the difference in cost would, in the case of motor cycles, be so small, it does not seem desirable to incur the administrative labour.

Captain STRICKLAND

Is the hon. and gallant Member aware that the majority of road motor cyclists are usually small men?

Captain HUDSON

The difference is so small that the Department does not think it worth while to make the change.
