HC Deb 09 March 1936 vol 309 c1779
17. Lieut. - Colonel Sir ARNOLD WILSON

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether discussions are proceeding with the Governments of Egypt, France, Spain, Holland and Greece with a view to inducing them to take as much Rumanian oil in 1936 as they took in 1934, in order to make good part of the loss of the Italian market in the event of sanctions on oil?

Viscount CRANBORNE

So far as His Majesty's Government are aware, no such discussions are taking place.

18. Sir A. WILSON

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether the issue of a further Order in Council under the Treaty of Peace Act, 1919, is contemplated in order to assist Rumania to find an outlet in this country for that portion of its petroleum exports amounting to 25 per cent. of the whole or over 1,000,000 tons which went last year to Italy?

Viscount CRANBORNE

No, Sir.
