HC Deb 31 July 1936 vol 315 cc1862-3
17. Mr. GUY

asked the Minister of Pensions whether he is now in a position to state the personnel of the Board of Supervision in connection with the disability pensions savings scheme?

The MINISTER of PENSIONS (Mr. R. S. Hudson)

I am glad to say the following have kindly consented to serve as Members of the Board of Supervision to be appointed in connection with the Savings Scheme for Pensioners:

  • Sir Harry Peat (Chairman).
  • The Earl of Airlie.
  • Admiral Sir Lionel Halsey.
In addition—
  • The Chairman, British Legion Pensions Committee, and
  • The Accountant General of the Ministry of Pensions
for the time being.

Mr. GUY

Can the Minister of Pensions give an assurance that the Board will be quite independent of the Ministry?

Mr. HUDSON

Yes, I think that is obvious.
