HC Deb 31 July 1936 vol 315 c1857
6. Mr. CREECH JONES

asked the Home Secretary whether he is aware that certain interests in London propose to exploit for private profit the occasion of the Coronation of His Majesty King Edward VIII; and whether, in the interest of the visitors to London from the provinces and overseas, he will consider the applicability of some control of profiteering.

Sir J. SIMON

I doubt whether it would be competent for the Home Office to intervene in a matter of this kind.
