HC Deb 27 April 1936 vol 311 c549
38. Mr. W. ROBERTS

asked the Minister of Health whether, in view of the recent case in which a clerk at the Westwood Park, Oldham, public assistance institution was suspended for refusing to feed the goldfish in an ornamental pond in front of the master's house, he will make representations to the Oldham public assistance committee with a view to having the clerk reinstated?

Mr. SHAKESPEARE

Under the provisions of Part IX of the Public Assistance Order, 1930, the action of the Oldham public assistance authority in this matter does not require the consent or approval of my right hon. Friend.
