HC Deb 22 April 1936 vol 311 c149
38. Miss WARD

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, in the event of the Cunard White Star Company wishing through their shipbuilders to take advantage of the financial provisions of the North Atlantic Shipping Bill for the building of a sister ship to the "Queen Mary," he will give an assurance that no definite order will be placed without the cognisance of the Government?

The FINANCIAL SECRETARY to the TREASURY (Mr. W. S. Morrison)

I would refer my hon. Friend to the answer I gave her on 16th March, to which I have nothing to add.
