§ 19. Mr. JANNERasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether a copy of the Report of Sir Felix Pole on Palestine railway development has yet been received by the Colonial Office?
§ Sir P. CUNLIFFE-LISTERYes, Sir.
§ Mr. JANNERWould the right hon. Gentleman now give an opportunity to Members of the House to see that report, or copies of it?
§ Sir P. CUNLIFFE-LISTERObviously, I must consult with the High Commissioner of Palestine on the question of the publication of a report made to him.
§ Mr. JANNERWould the right hon. Gentleman take immediate steps to see that this is done, because there are very important issues raised?
§ Sir P. CUNLIFFE-LISTERSome time ago I asked the High Commissioner of Palestine to let me have his considered opinion on the matter.
§ Mr. JANNERWill the right hon. Gentleman tell the House how long he has had this report in the Colonial Office?
§ Sir P. CUNLIFFE-LISTERIf the hon. Member puts a question on the Paper, I have no doubt the precise date will be given to him, but he may be perfectly certain that there has been no delay whatever in the matter. As a matter of fact, the High Commissioner discussed all these matters with Sir Felix Pole before he left, and I think he had a preliminary version of the report before he received it finally.
